Red Panda@Firefox@Shining Cat
The red panda or also known as fire fox or shining cat. Actually it was depend on which country it stay. In the scientific name, it was known as Ailurus Fulgens. The red panda is a small arboreal mammal native lives in Himalaya and southwestern China. It is larger than domestic cat, reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail and waddling gait due to its shorter front legs. Red panda usually eats bamboo but sometimes it also eats small mammals, insects and birds. It also distantly related to giant panda actually.
Physical Characteristics
Most of the panda,are 56cm to 63cm long and their tail about 37cm to 47cm. Male weigh 3.7 to 6.2kg and females 4.2 and 6.0kg. They have long, soft-reddish brown for on the upper parts, blackish fur,and light face with tear markings. Their roundish head has medium sized upright ears, a black nose and very dark eyes, almost pitch black. Their long bushy tail with six alternating yellowish and transverse ochre rings provided balance and excellent.
Behavior
Red panda are territorial. Adults are solitary except during mating season. Most red panda are passive and quiet except for communication sounds like whistling and twittering. Red panda also sleeping on tree branches or in tree hallows during the day and increasing their activity in the late afternoon and early evening hours. They sleep stretched out on a branch with legs dangling when it is hot, and curled up with its tail over the face when it is cold.
They also are very heat sensitive. Shortly after
waking, this type of panda also do as same as
cat, when it clear their fur like cat do. They also rub their back and belly along the sides of trees or rocks. Then tey will patrol their territory, marking it with urine and a weak mark smelling. They search for food running along the ground or through the trees. They also their front paws to place the food into the mouth and drink by plunging a paw into the water and then licking the paw
Predators for red panda is leopard, people and martens. If they feel threatened, they may try to escape by climbing the trees or rock column. They also their paws in order to defend their selves.

Habitat
Most of the red panda prefer to stay on the tree branches. But, there is minority of them prefer to stay in understories of bamboos and in the hallow of trees. ( Myanmar, China, East of Japan, Nepal)
Reproduction
Red pandas are able to reproduce around 18months age and fully mature at 2-3 years old. Adult rarely interact in the wild except to mate. Both sexes may mate with more than one partner during the mating season from mid January to early Match. A few days before birth, females begin to collect material such as grass and bush. After 112 -158 days, the female red panda will get birth.
Conservation
Due to this problem, China has 35 protected areas covering 42.4% red panda habitat. India also has 20 protected areas such as Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. It also similar to other countries such as Myanmar and Nepal, their country also save a place for coordinated conservation policy for the red panda.
